Ebony Thyme
Hi! I'm Ebony Thyme. I am the founder of Paychecks 2 Profit Health Care Summit™.
I graduated NP school in 2018 with a degree and no real direction. While my classmates were landing jobs through preceptorships, I was still figuring out what I actually wanted.
Then a locum tenens rep came to my school and talked about freedom and flexibility.... and something clicked.
That was the life I wanted.
I started 1099 contracting in 2019. No roadmap, no mentor, nobody in my circle doing what I was doing. I figured it out on my own. My first year, that cost me $30,000 in back taxes. But even with that, I never looked back to a traditional 9-5.
Because here's what nobody tells you in school: they teach you how to be a clinician. They don't teach you how to build a career around your life.
I'm an avid traveler, 30+ countries, started solo, met my husband overseas. I needed a career that moved with me, not one that held me still. 1099 contracting gave me that. And once I learned the business side of healthcare, the taxes, the structure, the strategy, everything changed.
That's why I created Paychecks 2 Profit™. Because burnout is real & falling out of love with your career is also real.
